Did a whole lotta service this week

 Nothing too crazy this week!

Did a whole lotta service this week. We went and helped out and a senior home and it was so funny because they were practically praising us for carrying these "heavy boxes" that were practically full of pillows hahaha they were the lightest things ever and it isn't because we are pumping mad iron out here like Elder Case is in Arkansas.

We had this one dinner this week and I'm sure by now pretty much everyone on here knows I'm a fairly semi picky eater and basically beans and chili and stuff like that are probably my least favorite thing on planet earth. Well you wouldn't be able to GUESS what I had to eat twice this week. The first time oh boy that was tough. When I saw what they were feeding us I literally just about laughed and looked for my good friend Scott Larson outside the window to see if he was looking in laughing as if he had set this up or something. Even though I didn't see him physically I KNOW he was there somehow in spirit which made this pretty funny for me. But basically the dude who cooked us dinner creates and invents some wonky foods and basically when they are trying to tell you what it is called but end up calling it just a "concoction" you just KNOW you are in for a real treat! This time it was a bunch of beans and pastes and crap all mixed together. The weirdest texture ever let me tell ya. hahaha I managed that though no need to worry. I couldn't be more grateful for water this week it helped me through this. The other meal with beans was alright it was just straight beans so it tasted decent.

For pday we went up into the Black Hills to Lead and Deadwood area and went to this massive mine that you can see from google maps super easy I took a selfie in front of it you can see down below. Cool mining towns and we went and ate lunch at this pizza place that was half bar and I could hear the people next to us talking about how the mormon missionaries came here because it is an easy way to find sinners lol. We are all sinners but still funny.

Took my district for district pday and we went on this cool mine tour in the Broken Boot Gold Mine. I liked it when Elder Ewell, Aaron and I went and gave ourselves a tour of a massive mine on the backside of Baldy with nothing but phone flashlights. That was pretty cool but this was fun too of course especially because you get the actual history!

Love you all send me a dang email how about that  matthew.dalton@missionary.org

Thanks for the Birthday wishes everyone!

So this week was sweet! We met our new mission President and his wife! President and Sister Camp are super cool and I am excited for what is to come!

Anyways other than that we had a lot of member lessons tryna grind that member work. Every single one of you members on here better be being the best member missionaries it is so important nowadays!!!

This week was cool because I guess the members get an email from the mission office that it is my Birthday I guess? Or maybe just the ward mission leaders do but I wasn't going to say anything and my comp had asked me on my first day in the area when my birthday was and I told him not to worry about it so he didn't know until wednesday of this week and then a bunch of members were like oh you have a birthday on Friday! I was like yo what how did they find out. But it was cool the Lee family had us over for dinner and made us ROAST and MASHED POTATOES it was the best. They even got me a cool elephant tie clip and gave me a Kershaw pocket knife cuz Brother Lee has a knife collection of like 400 knives so that was hype. So so nice

Then on Friday we went and worked a booth at Rushmore that says "Where are you from?" With every temple on it and people come put their names on a small post it and put it where they are from and we talk to them about their local temple and stuff so it's cool and I got to meet a ton of people and see Mt. Rushmore for the first time. Then we went to our ward mission Leaders house for dinner and he grilled us up some brisket and some BOMB cheesy potatoes so that was the best.

We have been grinding tryna find new people but nothing yet we have to keep the grind up.

I promise all of you if you pray and read the scriptures daily you will feel more of his love for you and you live a better happier life the power of prayer combined with effort and works on our behalf is so strong, Heavenly Father loves us so much and wants to hear from us so go talk to him and he will help you through no matter what it is!

Running Mt. Rushmore

This week was pretty cool. I say that every week but you should see my journal it literally says "today was good" if was a real good day it'll say "today was good!" I just don't know how to start these things off here.

But anyways this week was the 4th of July and I know what you are saying the 4th of July isn't a week Elder Dalton it is a day duh! But NO in small town America it is an all week event. I'm talking a massive rodeo, firework shows literally every night, and a massive carnival they set up. Crazy stuff. I have decided though I don't really care much about just watching fireworks. I just want to light em off from now on. Nothing beats lighting em off with the bois and then dipping out, and having some random dude come out and smashing your friends mirror in. (Sorry but that was an if you know you know moment) but it just makes it so much more exhilarating. But we went and took pics by the carnival cuz it was cool lookin and the ride attendant of the ride we stood next to goes "you wanna hop on? It is a freebee!" Freak yeah I wanna hop on but he had one requirement, he said he wanted to see that boi SPINNING FAST and that's exactly what we did. To the point I couldn't put my hands on the wheel to spin it faster because it would rip my hands off. It was so fun but I wanted to puke.

We went on a hike this week up Spearfosh Canyon up the mini mountains they have here. Super super beautiful it was fun and we taught a lesson while we did it and our friend came to Church and says he definitely wants to learn more about the church! Way hype.

Oh also I'm running a booth on Mt Rushmore this Friday from 10am-1pm pull up if you are cool be there or be square. Bust a move and come out here and say hello AND see Mt. Rushmore. It is a win win no cap.

Pics down below I'm out of time sorry everyone love you all! Email me
