Nothing too crazy this week!
Did a whole lotta service this week. We went and helped out and a senior home and it was so funny because they were practically praising us for carrying these "heavy boxes" that were practically full of pillows hahaha they were the lightest things ever and it isn't because we are pumping mad iron out here like Elder Case is in Arkansas.
We had this one dinner this week and I'm sure by now pretty much everyone on here knows I'm a fairly semi picky eater and basically beans and chili and stuff like that are probably my least favorite thing on planet earth. Well you wouldn't be able to GUESS what I had to eat twice this week. The first time oh boy that was tough. When I saw what they were feeding us I literally just about laughed and looked for my good friend Scott Larson outside the window to see if he was looking in laughing as if he had set this up or something. Even though I didn't see him physically I KNOW he was there somehow in spirit which made this pretty funny for me. But basically the dude who cooked us dinner creates and invents some wonky foods and basically when they are trying to tell you what it is called but end up calling it just a "concoction" you just KNOW you are in for a real treat! This time it was a bunch of beans and pastes and crap all mixed together. The weirdest texture ever let me tell ya. hahaha I managed that though no need to worry. I couldn't be more grateful for water this week it helped me through this. The other meal with beans was alright it was just straight beans so it tasted decent.
For pday we went up into the Black Hills to Lead and Deadwood area and went to this massive mine that you can see from google maps super easy I took a selfie in front of it you can see down below. Cool mining towns and we went and ate lunch at this pizza place that was half bar and I could hear the people next to us talking about how the mormon missionaries came here because it is an easy way to find sinners lol. We are all sinners but still funny.
Took my district for district pday and we went on this cool mine tour in the Broken Boot Gold Mine. I liked it when Elder Ewell, Aaron and I went and gave ourselves a tour of a massive mine on the backside of Baldy with nothing but phone flashlights. That was pretty cool but this was fun too of course especially because you get the actual history!
Love you all send me a dang email how about that matthew.dalton@missionary.org
Pics:
