Sorry it has been so long!
There is a huge ol blizzard outside right now so we will be stuck inside for the next couple of days snowed in. It is covering the entire State of North Dakota and we are having 50-60 mph winds and we are supposed to get 30 inches of snow. Should be a good time. We told the zone to not be soft and to make sure they are still out and about getting the work done (but then un-sent the message because of course their safety is the priority
)
)I am still on Stanley North Dakota and it is awesome here!! We live on a little trucking company like 5 miles outside of town with some other members that own a trucking company for the oil field out here. I think I am a Peterbilt type of guy. Might have to get one to haul my massive toy hauler one of these days.
A couple weeks ago we had Stake Conference (a meeting where all of the local congregations meet together ever 6 months) with a General Authority named Elder Wong (a person who has more responsibility and over sees this specific area to make sure things are going well) came. In the meeting we had with just the Adults, he was putting EVERYONE on the spot. Walking around and he had tech people SPRINTING through the chapel to give people microphones to talk. Well the Missionaries weren't exempt from getting put on the spot. He called our mission President and his wife up to the pulpit and then had him bring up a set of missionaries to stand with him and sadly he asked us to come up. He starts asking us questions in a super weird way in front of everyone and he is a little Asian man that is SUPER traditional so he is merciless. My comp put his hands in his pockets because we had been standing up there for forever and he roasted him so hard for it in front of everyone. I felt bad for the guy he was constantly on him for every little thing. I felt like Ricky Bobby from Talladega Nights over here not knowing what to do with my hands with a microphone in my hand trying to guess what he is going to ask us next so i can actually have an answer for it. He had some Sister missionaries come up too and they were trying to keep the crack jokes and stuff but they were super cheesy and no one was laughing it was funny to me for that reason hahaha.. Come to find out we were standing up there for 30 minutes out of this meeting!! And I have served in this Stake for 10 months so I know most of the people in there it was pretty hilarious.
Life is great, we challenged the zone to do a 40 day fast in order to purify ourselves further and be more spiritually in tune and sensitive. The point is to pray about distractions that can take us away from missionary work or Jesus Christ, no matter how slight, write them down on a list and work at them for the next 40 days to combine our personal abilities to work hard with spiritual power and strength. It is going amazing!!! Eliminating distractions from our lives that may seem slight, makes a huge difference because Heavenly Father respects sacrifice and will help us have strength to overcome them if we ask Him for help. I would invite whoever is willing to do the same! Develop your spiritual gifts and if you don't know what a "spiritual gift" is send me an email or a message I can explain real quick
Love you guys!
